About Jackie

Jackie Tey founded Straits Podiatry with a clear purpose, to help people move with comfort, confidence, and freedom. He sees patients at the Buona Vista clinic and leads the group as Chief Podiatrist within the Healthway Medical Group.

Jackie was a recipient of the MOH Holdings Health Science and Nursing Scholarship for Podiatry. He began his career at Singapore General Hospital and later at Sengkang General Hospital, where he worked within a multidisciplinary team alongside orthopaedic surgeons, vascular surgeons, and endocrinologists on patients with complex diabetic foot complications. He was involved in clinical research aimed at improving care delivery and patient outcomes, and his work contributed to the development of a new negative pressure wound dressing technique, which won first prize internationally.

Jackie pursued a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences before studying Podiatry in Australia. He graduated top of his class with First Class Honours in Podiatry from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), and was on the Faculty of Health Executive Dean's Commendation List every semester. During his studies he received the Charles W Graves Award for Orthotics and the Leonard K Claxton Award for Clinical Studies from the Australian Podiatry Association. He currently serves as a Clinical Fellow at QUT.

His clinical interests are sports injury and lower limb biomechanics, additional experience in diabetic foot complications, musculoskeletal foot and ankle conditions, and paediatric lower limb assessment. These interests were shaped by growing up with flat feet and competing in basketball, hockey, and volleyball. He is a Certified Medical Shockwave Practitioner with the International Society of Medical Shockwave Treatment (ISMST), a Certified Foot Mobilisation Techniques Practitioner, and a Certified Neuromuscular Dry Needling Practitioner of the lower limb. He served as President of the Podiatry Association (Singapore) in 2023/2024.

Was attended to by Jackie Tey and he was super knowledgeable and got me fitted with the perfect insoles to fit my extremely bad flatfoot. This in turn also helped reduce incidents of my ankles being swollen. My foot issues were sorted out in no time! Highly recommend Straits Podiatry!
